The 2024 Hardi 24-Hour Bike Trial, held on July 12-14 in Kapunda, marked a significant milestone as it celebrated 100 years of this iconic event. The Centenary edition drew a record of over 300 competitors, including riders from all over Australia, making it one of the most highly anticipated races in the event's storied history.

Among the many talented riders, the Throup brothers—Nick, Tristan, and Sean—once again demonstrated their talent in endurance racing.

Nick, one of our pilots, balances his career in the skies with a deep passion for off-road racing. This dual expertise in both aviation and endurance sports highlights his exceptional versatility and dedication.

In this challenging Centenary race, Sean Throup secured an impressive 3rd place, showing his enduring strength and consistency on the demanding trails. His brother Tristan followed closely, finishing in 4th place, while Nick rounded out the top tier with a strong 6th place finish. Their collective performance was a testament to the Throup family's dominance and deep-rooted connection to the 24-Hour Bike Trial.

The 2024 event was particularly grueling, with weather conditions adding an extra layer of difficulty.

Rain-soaked trails tested the reliability and stamina of all riders, but the Throup brothers remained unfazed, although frozen! Their ability to navigate the terrain with such endurance was clear from the start.

This year's race was more than just a competition; it was a celebration of a century of endurance and reliability in racing. Since its inception in 1924, the 24-Hour Bike Trial has become the longest-running motorcycle event in Australia and one of the top ten in the world. The Kapunda Harness Racing Complex, the event's home since 1976, was the perfect backdrop for this historic occasion, buzzing with the energy of spectators and competitors alike.

As the Centenary race concluded, the Throup brothers once again etched their names into the history of the 24-Hour Bike Trial. Their success in this landmark year is not just a reflection of their individual talents, but also of their collective legacy in the sport. The Throup family’s continued support of and participation in this event ensures that their commitment to endurance racing will be celebrated for years to come.

Congratulations again boys!
